Arcus Frontend Website Redesign
Step One: Define Goals and Deadlines
Meeting with leadership and other stakeholders, along with a research survey where users shared that the current Arcus messaging was unclear, helped to define the primary goal for the following fiscal year: make Arcus messaging clearer by redesigning the website.

Step Two: Apply User Research Methods
Feedback from both the researchers and stakeholders identified that it was unclear when a researcher should use our platform versus other resources offered to them at the research institute. Feedback from the Outreach Manager identified that the current Arcus website was too difficult to keep up-to-date as it was not built on a typical content management site and required expertise in programming skills to edit .
Personas
Personas were crafted to understand the different researchers motivations for visiting our site. View Personas.
User Metrics
Metrics were analyzed to see how visitors were using the existing site. They primarily used it to go directly into the portal and bypassed the informational content pages on the frontend site.

Where to Build the New Site
The CHOP Intranet on Sharepoint was identified as a place to build out the new Arcus website as it could easily reach our intended audience,CHOP Clinicians and Researchers, and it allowed for ease of use by the Outreach team for building and maintaing the website.

Step Three: Ideation and Design
Competitive Analysis and Design Brief
A competitive analysis and design brief was created to understand how similar platforms designed their websites and promoted their messaging. View Design Brief.
Wireframe
A wireframe was built that included a navigation and pages similar to other platforms for biomedical research. View Wireframe.
Meetings With Stakeholders
Meetings with stakeholders on the team helped to identify if the wireframe was ok to work with for the development of the site. Some refinements were made based on their input.
